Morris Brown College enters partnership with Point University

Dr. Kevin James, interim president of Morris Brown College (MBC), met with Dean Collins, president of Point University, on Friday, Jan. 17 to sign a memorandum of understanding that will allow the HBCU’s students to attend Point’s graduate programs with a tuition discount.

“We could not be more pleased that our hardworking students who have matriculated at MBC have this
tremendous opportunity to continue their studies in pursuit of a graduate degree at a superb institute of
higher learning that is Point University,” James said.

“We (Morris Brown College and Point University) are two Christ-centered schools that are models of
leadership and by working jointly we are advancing Christian education and critical experiences of our
future leaders.”

Located in West Point, Georgia, Point University is an 82-year-old Christian university offering both
residential and online programs of study.

“Point University is actively engaged in developing the next generation of leaders to make a positive
impact on society both locally and around the globe,” Collins said. “The partnership with Morris Brown assures that their students will have access to quality graduate education to prepare them for the next step in that journey.”

In October 2019, MBC was approved as an institute of higher learning from the Georgia Nonpublic
Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC), which authorizes and regulates the operations of in-
state nonpublic and out-of-state postsecondary colleges and schools operating or offering instruction in
Georgia.

Earlier that year, Morris Brown College officially became a correspondence school with the Transnational
Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS).
