SO-ATL kicks off inaugural event at Topgolf
Atlanta’s newest networking experience, SO-ATL, held its inaugural event last weekend at TopGolf. Designed as a monthly event where young professionals can form new professional and personal relationships in a fun environment, SO-ATL kicked off its introduction with newly-elected councilman Antonio Brown as the guest of honor.
“This just an incredible event,” said Atlanta City Councilman Antonio Brown. “I was a fashion entrepreneur before this. I saw that there was a need in our community, an important need to bring our people together so that we can start moving forward as a generation.”
Atlanta’s young professionals were provided with a private room at TopGolf, where they enjoyed food, games, music, and more, with host V-103 personality Jae Nash, promoter Mike Clay, and the Spelman 2014 Class Council Association.
There were also reserved areas for attendees to golf and lounge.
Nash and Clay say that they created SO-ATL as a unique social gathering to provide an upscale social networking experience for young urban business professionals. They also intended to utilize the monthly day party build connections between Atlanta’s growing professional community and community leaders.
With the support of Bolt Mobility, Screen Gems, and Stella Artois as sponsors, SO-ATL was able to also give their guests prizes that included vacations, electronics, and gift cards.
Former NBA player Josh Powell also made an appearance and brought his family to enjoy the festivities. The 2x champion currently plays in Ice Cube’s The Big 3 basketball league.
Nash says that after the success of their first event, her and Clay are planning top themselves for the next one; and are even considering taking it to different cities.
